In our celebration of Christ as King of the Universe and our King as Christians, we realize that we are approaching the end of the Church’s Liturgical Year of 2019. It also means that we are on the doorstep of the Season of Advent, the time of preparation for the coming anew of Jesus Christ into our hearts and lives. The longing and anticipation of ages past is again part of our spirituality as we worship God weekly in common, and daily as individuals. As we experience early darkness in the northern hemisphere, we are focused on seeking the Light of Christ in this Advent time. Preparations for the feast of Christmas can be a huge distraction or they can become a blessed reminder of the wonder of Christmas – Jesus becoming human and choosing to dwell among us here on planet Earth, our common home.
