CHARLESTON, W.Va.—Catholic Charities West Virginia (CCWVa) will host its Charity in Action Awards Luncheon on Nov. 9, 2018, in Charleston, W.Va. The inaugural event will honor local individuals and groups who exhibit exemplary service in assisting others and respond with action when they recognize need in their community.

The esteemed 2018 honorees are: Rev. Msgr. Dean Borgmeyer, V.F.; Mr. Matthew Bowles; Mr. Rich Stonestreet; Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Court St. Ann #1666; Church of the Ascension, Hurricane; and the Roane County Long-Term Recovery Committee.

“We are so grateful to our honorees for their hearts of service,” said Beth Zarate, CCWVa Chief Executive Officer. “It is truly a privilege to celebrate their generosity.”

The event will also feature keynote speaker Brian R. Corbin. Corbin is the Executive Vice President for Member Services for Catholic Charities USA. His career with Catholic Charities spans more than 30 years and has centered on the intersection of Catholic Social Teaching and public policy.

Proceeds from the event will support the programs and services CCWVa provides to people in need throughout its Western Region. This region includes Charleston, Huntington, Parkersburg and the surrounding communities. CCWVa provides caring and compassionate services to people in need and works toward lasting and meaningful change.
