Free Donuts Part 2

Where is the place they want to be?
Safe. Accepted. Respected. Status. Hero.

There is a local church that, on every Easter Sunday, gives out hundreds of boxes of ½ dozen donuts. The caveat is, the church members don’t get to eat them. They get to take them and give them to people that are working and cannot attend an Easter service.

Sure, this example is once a year, and it’s expensive. The point is that it creates heroes. It creates stories. People happily give. People warmly receive. Everyone talks about it.

Maybe people don’t eat free donuts because there is no story. There is no hero. There’s nothing worth talking about.
