Garbage In – Garbage Out (GIGO)

An old computer programming term meaning what you put in is what you get out.

This term applies to much more than computers though.

If you send an unclear, detail-less email, what kind of response should you expect?
If you don’t update your website, what kind of response should you expect?
If you don’t proofread your work, what kind of response should you expect?

If you care enough to put in a generous effort, the response might be better than you expect.
