Sexual Abuse Review Board
In keeping with the provisions of The Charter for the Protection of Children and Young People approved by the Apostolic See, Bishop Schmitt announced the creation of a new Diocesan Sexual Abuse Review Board.
The Board’s responsibilities will be to advise the Bishop on the implementation of The Charter, review the credibility of any future allegations of sexual abuse, and fulfill the other duties described in Article 2 of The Charter.
The following individuals have accepted a five year appointment to the Diocesan Sexual Abuse Review Board, effective January 24, 2003:
1. Mr. John P. Bailey, Esq., Wheeling, attorney
2. Dr. Patricia M. Bailey, Ph.D., Wheeling, psychologist
3. Mrs. Karen Dobkin, Wheeling, former law enforcement officer
4. Dr. Norman Ferrari, M.D., Morgantown, physician
5. Dr. Rick A. Greco, M.D., Wheeling, physician
6. Reverend Leo B. Lydon, Clarksburg, retired priest
7. Mr. John Moore, Wheeling, human resources professional
