Insurance Information/Catholic Mutual
Catholic Mutual strives to provide our members with resources to assist in reducing claims. One problem area we have noted is that bullying continues to be a concern – whether at school or when our youth are attending other events. In an effort to assist you in this area and enhance our anti-bullying program, we have developed a new training for youth at the high school age.

Catholic Mutual continues to prepare and provide information to its members regarding safety. In the wake of many recent tragedies, mass shootings and other violent acts have become all too familiar. Our churches are not immune from shootings and other violent attacks. The Church Security document includes information on Awareness and Prevention and Threat and Course of Action. Catholic Mutual DOES NOT allow arming employees or volunteers as part of your safety/security plan. There is an excellent active shooter training geared for schools that is available at www.cmgconnect.org. You can also find an “Active Shooter Emergency Response” document on our website www.catholicmutual.org.

According to the Center for Disease Control (CDC), suicide is the 2nd leading cause of death for people ages 10-34. The number of people who contemplate suicide is even higher. Suicide can be preventable with early intervention. In an effort to assist our members with this delicate topic, Catholic Mutual Group has developed several training videos. Our first training video, Preventing Youth Suicide, is designed to give adults who are in close, frequent contact with young people guidance about warning signs to identify if someone is potentially considering suicide. It also reviews the profound importance of taking immediate action if any of those red flags are observed. Our second training video, Never Again, is specifically created for the high school aged audience to help them identify warning signs to help prevent youth suicide. Attached are instructions to access these trainings which are currently available on CMG Connect under Optional Trainings. If you wish to make them show up on your site as a required training, please contact Shannon Moles at smoles@catholicmutual.org. Attached you will also find an article from our CARES for KIDS library titled Seeking Help is a Sign of Strength: Suicide Awareness & Prevention.
