St. Anne, Webster Springs

In 1920 the Marist Fathers organized the Catholic families of Webster Springs into a mission of Holy Family Parish, Richwood. Many of the families had come to work in the coal mines and lumber mills of Webster County. Mass was celebrated in a private home until funds were raised to purchase property for a church that was completed in 1948. The Marists served at Webster Springs until 1973, when they withdrew from the mission. At this time St. Anne's was assigned to St. Thomas, Gassaway. The mission became an independent parish in 1978. Bishop Hodges re-dedicated an enlarged and renovated church in 1980.
