Overview

The primary responsibility of the Director of Faith Formation is to advance the vision and enable life long faith formation within the diocese. The Director’s work reflects the vision articulated in the General Directory on Catechesis and the National Directory for Catechesis. This vision states that:

  • All endeavors in faith formation are carried out in the spirit and model of catechumenal catechesis, a catechetical model that flows from and leads to the Sunday Liturgy
  • The model for faith formation demands that catechesis exist within the life of the evangelizing church and should be systematic and complete
  • The role of the domestic church and the parish in passing on the faith through the lifecycle are both important
  • Reflection on the various cultures that shape a community and understanding the issues that affect the lives of the people is essential to inculturating the Gospel.
