National Conference of Catholic Women in Grand Rapids, MI I just returned from the 2014 National Conference of Catholic Women in Grand Rapids. I was surprised how clean the city was – like none I have seen. The city was bustling with no rooms left in hotels because of an event called ArtPrize that brings in many international visitors. Pieces of art were everywhere in parks, by the river, in businesses. It was amazing. The conference was no less amazing. There were approximately 600 Catholic women who attended. Also attending were some families, 40-50 priests who were spiritual advisors and 6 bishops. The days were full of great speakers and meetings on the 2015 goals that focus on issues like the New Evangelization and Religious Freedom. There is a document on witnessing to your faith on their webpage for free download at www.nccw.org that was just released at the conference. I will also try to post an mp3 of Ralph Martin’s talk on Women in the New Evangelization tomorrow so I can share it with you (he approved). I have some other pearls of wisdom I gained that I hope to share with you as it crosses my mind. I was thinking of all the Catholic women in WV when I was at the conference and hope we can share the fruits of the meeting together. Lynn Marie
